Ready to put the art of living at the heart of your holiday? Head to Cancale, the pearl of Mont Saint-Michel Bay, certified a Site Remarquable du Goût® (Remarkable Site of Taste). Exceptional products made by passionate artisans await you: delicious biscuits from Maison Guella, plant-based and marine cosmetics from La Savonnerie Cancalaise, handmade Les Cancalaises sandals… At a crêperie in the port, you’ll be speechless at the picture-postcard view before you. But don’t forget to eat, your galette is getting cold… Save a little room for an oyster tasting after your visit to the Ferme
Marine. You’ll come away knowing everything there is to know about the cultivation of Cancale’s star product, which is listed as part of France’s intangible cultural heritage. Take the GR®34 to Pointe du Grouin, a rocky outcrop overlooking the bay. In the distance, the coastline is silhouetted, with Mont Saint-Michel making a guest appearance. You’ll forget everything else. Your day ends in the beautiful local restaurant. Just like being out at sea.
OestermarktDay 2 : Saturday is market day!
The accommodation you have chosen, in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, is ideal for exploring the area. The day begins in Dol-de-Bretagne, market day: the centre is bustling with onlookers and merchants cheerfully calling out to each other. It’s barely 10 a.m.? That’s because here, there’s no set time for enjoying a galette-saucisse… A 15-minute drive and you’re on the coast. Explore the bay’s flora and fauna with a guide or take the Train Marin to discover mussel farming? No need to choose, the tide will decide! The sea air will have whetted your appetite, so stop for a break at Ker Nouna in Cherrueix. Enjoy a gourmet snack while watching the sand yachts dance… Could this be happiness? Continue on to the Maison des Produits du Terroir et de la Gastronomie and its shop to stock up on local products. The coastal road leads you to a seafood tasting at the friendly Bistrot Joséphine in Saint-Benoit-des-Ondes.

At the Maison du Sabot, a museum space has been created in the former workshop of the last clog maker in Trans-la-Forêt. Clogs, the ancestors of Crocs, you say? If you don’t have time to visit the Maison des Polders in Rozsur-Couesnon, make a note for your next visit.
You arrive in Combourg. In this Petite Cité de Caractère®, every street tells a story. Cosy restaurants have taken their place in this open-air museum: for lunch, try L’Orangerie. You arrive in Combourg. In this Petite Cité de Caractère® (Small Town of Character), every street tells a story. Cosy restaurants have taken their place in this open-air museum: for lunch, try L’Orangerie. Look up at the half-timbered facades of the houses and step inside the Maison de la Lanterne to discover the current exhibition. As you stroll through the medieval castle, you may feel the romantic spirit of the writer François-René de Chateaubriand, who lived there as a teenager. Or perhaps it’s the ghost of the place, accompanied by his black cat… Take a break in the castle’s cosy tea room and you’re ready to go again. The last visit of the day will be to the Sorre family cider house and its delicious vintages in Plerguer.
